Is Your Teen Futured Focused?

Is your Teen Future Focused?

A lot of teens are just living in the here and now.

This is totally normal and there is nothing wrong with that.

But if they have some big goals in life, are they doing things now to get themselves to those goals?

Sit down and ask your teen where they want to be in 5 years?

Where do they want to be in 10 years? 20 Years? 30 Years?

I like to think of people that they know who are that age so they can compare and look at those people as an example of what stage of life they would be in.

So if they are 15 I would give them an example of someone who was 20, 25, 35 and 45.

My mother in law is exactly 20 years older then me and her mother was 40 years older then me.

I could look to them to see what stage of life would I be in 20 or 40 years.

Once our teen looks ahead and thinks about where they would want to be, they can see if what they are doing today is helping them reach those goals.

For me, I see myself still coaching. I also want to be able to travel a lot whenever I want and be visiting my many grandchildren. (I need some boys to get married first.)

What am I doing each day to achieve those goals or ideas for my future.

Am I making decisions based on those hopes and dreams?

Am I making those my goals?
