I know I am.
One of my clients asked me the other day why she was feeling blue.
She was feeling worried about feeling a little blue.
What I want you to know and your teens to know that it is so normal to feel blue, especially at this time of year.
Especially with what it happening around us.
Especially with all the things are teens are going through or not going through right now.
So what can we do about it?
1St It is best to tell yourself or your teen that this is normal to feel this way this time of year.
When we can feel normal about our negative emotion we don’t start to feel sad about feeling sad which just creates more sadness.
2nd This year is so different as we don’t have the normal things to look forward to like vacations in the sun, a family get together or even just knowing what graduations are going to look like.
So create some things to look forward to.
Even if it is something small it is always good to have something enjoyable that we can plan on.
Some things we as a family can look forward to is a family ski trip and changing up our teens bedroom.
