Confidence and Self-Confidence

The definition of Self Confidence is being secure in yourself and your abilities. It's your ability to trust yourself, knowing that you can experience any emotion (including failure) without being harmed, and its overall opinion of yourself. Today made 300 cupcakes for a friend. I had confidence that I could do it because I have done it before. I had evidence. When I first started making cupcakes I had to have confidence in myself, or self confidence. This Self Confidence helped me to fail to learn all the things I needed to learn to make fabulous cupcakes. I learned how to make the wrappers not pull away from the cupcakes. I learned sprinkles on whipped cream based frosting will run. I learned that in the summer chocolate cake needs more flour. I learned all these things from Failure. I still had the Self Confidence to keep doing them. Now I make fabulous cupcakes. Yet I had to FAIL FIRST, and that was OK. If you have a teenager struggling with failure and want them to learn how to turn that into building Self Confidence click at the bottom of the page for a free mini session.
